DON'T SMOKE PROGRAM GETTING RAVE REVIEWS! Dr. R. U. Well's Don't Smoke Program, weaves important health, social and peer pressure issues with humor and audience participation. Magic, ventriloquism and the “Don't Smoke” song are combined to motivate students. The fun also enhances student memory of this serious message. Targeted for grades 2 through 4, the lesson is performed for up to fifty students (double class) in the 45 minute presentation. The props include Charlie, a puppet who plays a keyboard and assists with the questions and answers. The program is written and performed by Jan Potter, a former teacher, who appears as a clown-doctor. The program may be funded by Capital District Physicians Health Plan in areas of New York covered by the plan.
